  • Tourism and Commercialisation La Marina

The Costa Blanca has a reputation for the tough local governmental control against the over exploitation and commercialisation of the building developments for tourist industry.

There is a very distinct contrast between the high rise hotels and apartments to be found on the other Costa's and the moderation shown, even in these ‘tourist areas’.

Local bye-laws have prevented the explosion of massive hotel complexes. There are even height restrictions for buildings on the coastal routes.  A far cry from the Costa del Sol.

The Costa Blanca area is serviced by three international airports, Valencia, Alicante and Murcia, with regular low priced flights to the UK.

The Costa Blanca has so much to offer, everything from typical tourist resorts to quaint country villages, with their traditional white houses.

The sports facilities are unrivalled, with 21 Golf Courses, Tennis Courts, Horse Riding and all kinds of water sports, available throughout the year.

The beaches on the Costa Blanca have been awarded the European Blue Flag for pollution-free bathing.

The cost of living in Spain is considerably lower than in the UK.

To your left are link buttons to Tourist Information for the Santa Pola Region (North of La Marina) and Guardamar Region (South of La Marina). These are Text pages and will print off on most printers very well. The buttons marked as 'Images North' and Images South' of La Marina provide photographic images and text for these areas. These will take time to load and will really need a colour printer for printing.
