Blenheim Palace was built for John Churchill in recognition of his victory over France at the battle of Blenheim in 1704. The stately home is now designated a World Heritage Site. The home of Lord and Lady Faringdon. Buscot Park was built by Edward Loveden Townsend in the late 18th century and the formal gardens include designs by tne eminent 20th century designer Sir Harold Peto. The estate is open from April-September, Wednesdays,Thursdays and Fridays for the house and gardens, with the gardens open on Mondays and Tuesdays, various weekends and Bank Holidays. This was the home of William Morris the great poet and craftsmen of the 19th century.

The property is open from April to September on Wednesdays 11.00am -1.00pm and 2.00pm-5.00pm and on the third Saturday in April, May, June and September. and the first and third Saturdays in July and August. Access to the house is by a timed ticket and entry costs £7.00.

Rousham House

The house was built in 1635 by Sir Robert Dormer and is still in the hands of the same family. The property is unspoilt by commerialism and there are limited vacilities, no tearooms or shops so it remains for yourselves to cater for your neends.

The gardens are open all year, daily 10am-4.30pm and the house is open Wednesday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays from April to September
