reception quickstart

3 minute tutorial for the 'detailed' Patient file PRINT THIS PART! (it's only 2 pages!)

the programme opens in Reception mode -Click 'Menu' then the orange 'Patients' button
(or click the 'Detail' tab... then 'Patients' ....)

click the Tools on/off button (top left -(pale crystalsolutions logo)) a couple of times and you see the flipbook (on the left) and the whole screen (we recommend u keep the flipbook visible until you're used to the prog)

a/ patient comes in- meryl streep - you click FIND (mid right above green - show all
button) the fields clear, ie hendrix disappears! and you click in the surname field
(where Hendrix was written), then type 'str' and click Find again . Street's details should show up. (notice the layout -click Tools on/off and u see records 38 found 2 at the flipbook, while in full screen mode you see, below the crystalsolutions logo, no 15 Street's no and below it, the orange number 2 - the number of records found from typing 'str').
We have 2 found records. There are 2 ways to see them, first use the central arrows - click the 3rd arrow to see Streep's details. Notice the flip book changes at the same time on the left. (click Tools on/off again if you need to). Click the 2nd arrow to return to Street. The second, list way, is to click the list view button (above the central arrows and cash expenses button). This reveals the results of your find as a list. To see the individual record, press the yellow button on the left or click the orange button at the top to return to the record view.

Now we are going to update Streep's record. Use the central arrows to navigate to Streep's record. We are still in find mode. Click the green show all button (below the find button) you will still be in Streep's record but if you look below the flip book on the left (click Tools on/off if necessary) you will see records 38 (total number of records) and no find below it. In full screen mode, below the crystalsoltions logo, you will see the number 37 - Meryl's number and below that the orange number 38 which is the total number found. The green button 'finds all' - it shows all records. This is true for all parts of this programme and all modules.

Now we can update Streep's records:-
Type an address in the address field
Click in the box next to the yellow button below the telephone field to edit/select a telephone code. Click the yellow button and it pastes this into the telephone field. Add Meryl's telephone number.
To enter Meryl's condition, click the condition box (below m/f and age). Edit/select condition (to edit scroll to the bottom of listed conditions).
Click last treatment (below central arrows) and the current date will appear. You can now add any other details you want.

Now let's update our accounts.....
Press a/c button (below central arrows) to go into accounts module.
In the accounts module, press paste (above central arrows). A new record is created and you will see Meryl's details appear in the portal above along with today's date at the very top. Insert payment amount and mode of payment by clicking in the boxes to the right of the date at the top. Firstly the amount - click in the box to the right of the currency symbol and selct/edit as before. Then the mode of payment to the right - put mode of payment eg cash/cheque/unpaid etc. (note - accounts from reception requires only that u put in amount & mode of payment)
Now we click list view & balance button in the centre to view the updated balance where you will now see Meryl's details at the bottom. I use this view a lot to perform finds. eg click find button (top centre) and the fields will clear. Choose cheque (between amount and practice - click in the empty pink box below!) and choose unpaid. Click find button again and you will see who has not paid you. Now we are in find mode and you will see 'bad Peter'! Click the green show all button (below the find button) and you will see the full list of all the accounts records.

Another example of a find - click find (fields clear) and choose cash from the cheque field, click find again and a list of 3 records appears. Click the + button (to the left and below the find button) which modifies the find allowing you to add another criteria. You will see all the fields blank except 'cash'. Click in the practice field and choose Lancaster (you will see 2 criteria chosen) and press find again. One record will appear in this example. Click green show all button (- sign) and all records reappear. You can use the find and + button (modify) throughout this programme. Let's return to account input. Click the lilac button (top left) to return to the accounts input view. Let's finish by returning to the patient input and performing a modified find. Click the orange patients button (middle panel, left of paste) and we should be in patient record input again.

Click find and choose 'Liverpool' from the practice field (below name). Click find - how many has it found? (click Tools on/off again if you need to) look below the flipbook and/or below the crystalsolutions logo. We've found 14 records. Click list view (above the arrows) and you will see the 14 listed. Click the orange button to return to patient record view again (we are still in find mode remember). Click the + button (below find) this clears all fields except practice, we are modifying the find remember. Choose age (above condition to the right of m/f) choose over 60. Notice the green number 14 above find on the right of the screen indicating the number found from the previous find. Click find again and one record will appear. Notice the orange 1 above the green 14. Who is this patient and what medicine does he take? (you will have to scroll down to see the medicine field). You can do this using the up and down arrows below the find on the right.
Click the green button or 'problem click green' graphic to show all records (clears the find mode).

Now you can create a new record and update your accounts. Click the new record button in the panel to the right of the central arrows.

A new record will appear....have fun!!
