An aerial photograph of Shanghai Racecourse which was the principal land base for Royal Navy aeroplanes disembarked from aircraft carriers while serving at China Station.



The "New World" cafe in Shanghai was a popular gathering place for Europeans. Tea dances were held there. Some idea of the temperature main be gained by the number of pith helmets on view.
