This was my first job of the year after a slow winter, and so it was great to be
back on the set once again. For this stunt, for top Stunt Co-ordinator 'Clive Curtis', I was to work with stuntman Daniel Naprous. We were hired to play 2 thugs who beat up a guy and then get caught in a fire. Episode 1 of the series was broadcast in January 2000. It shows a van crash into a busy London hotel. Fuel spills from the van, down into the cellar where a 'rave party' is in full swing. Naturally, a lit cigarette ignites the fuel and up goes the hotel! This is the basis for the action in Episode 1. I had to beat up the hotel receptionist who comes down to try and stop the party because of the crash! We also had to turn and run from a 'backdraft' which roared a couple of feet from our heads. All went safe and well, and it was a good start back into stunting for 1999. |
