Cycle
Lewes! promotes cycling as an enjoyable, environmentally friendly, affordable
and equitable form of transport.
Formed
in 1998 we originally
went under the name of “Lewes Cycling Forum”, but decided
after almost two years of “consultation” with the local councils
that we needed to get active on the streets to make our point, and not
just be an adjunct of council-dictated processes. We changed our
name to Cycle Lewes! Success followed.
Becky Reynolds and Tony
Green originally formed Cycle Lewes! But, in October 2004 they moved to
Brighton and so Lewes based people Colin and Tim have taken over the
running of the group. Becky and Tony will continue to campaign for
improved conditions for cyclists in East Sussex.
