Happy New Year to you too!
I am in Panama now, in Bocas Del Torro, which is on the Caribbean side near
the Costa Rican border. My parents came down to visit so I am spending 10
days with them before I ship my bike and myself to Bogotá from Panama City.
At the moment I am taking a diving class for about 4 days to get my PADI
certification. I want to be ready for the Galapagos Islands; although I am
not sure I'll be able to make it out there. I'll see when I get there.
On December 30th, while driving down a dirt road in Costa Rica along the
southern Pacific coast, I passed a BMW F650GS with Jesse Bags and the works
going in the other direction. We both stopped and it happened to be Chris
of Chris and Erin from ultimateadventure.com. I spend new years with them
and another couple from Belgium and Germany that are traveling around the
Americas on an Honda African Twin. They were all heading north and I was
heading south. We said goodbye on January 2nd. What a coincidence! I
guess something like this was bound to happen sooner or later.
I know I need to send you more pictures. Unfortunately, most of the
computers I've been running across have Windows 98 which is incompatible
with the software that runs my picture storage device.
