Beginners

We run beginners' courses for anyone aged 10 years and upwards.  We provide tuition in basic archery by experienced archers.  It's best not to buy any equipment to start with, so all you need for the beginners' course is available for your use, and included in the class fee for the 6 sessions

During the 6 sessions of the beginners' course you are covered by our insurance policy. After this initial period you must join a club if you wish to continue shooting.

We strongly recommend you DO NOT purchase any archery equipment before doing a beginners' course, nor during the time immediately afterward. This is because an archer's equipment requirements can and do change over time, especially at the beginning, and making a mistake could be expensive.

Enrolling on the beginners course does not guarantee an offer of membership to the club. If you are invited to join, equipment will be available for a 3-month period at a small charge per session. After this time you are expected to get your own equipment, but rest assured we have plenty of experienced club members who will be able help you choose your equipment.
