Welcome to my airshow gallery site. My name is Derek Horne & I am not a professional photographer, I just do this for a hobby. Please feel free to contact me for any further information/queries.

This page is a thumbnail site of some of the photographs taken by myself at various airshows. All thumbnails are clickable and you will be rewarded by a large(desktop size) photograph. Information on each photograph can be obtained by hovering the mouse pointer over the desired image.

New Zealand Warbird Photographs

A big thank you to Stuart Russell of "The Flying Kiwi's" website for sending me some of his personal photographs. The P-51 and Harvards are all based at Ardmore airfield in South Auckland (which is also the home of the NZ Warbirds Association). The photo titled Harv3 was taken at Ardmore in February this year. The rest were taken at an RNZAF open day on April 1 this year at Whenuapai (pronounced 'Fe-nu-a-pie') airbase north west of Auckland.

I would like to thank my Dad, Brian Horne for the use of some of his photographs from the airshow. Unfortunately, my new telephoto zoom lens was not working properly and most of my photographs turned out to be pretty poor!

A Plea to airshow fans

Anyone interested in having their own aircraft/airshow photographs on this website should contact me by email. Idealy your pics should be in colour and have a resolution of at least 800x600 pixels. Let me know what you've got and either send me the photographs by email or on Floppy disk. Please note, only send JPG or JPEG photographs, my email cannot cope with BMP files.
