Many of us have Irish connections it is made
difficult for researchers of Irish Genealogy because so many records have
been destroyed in the troubles of Ireland some do exist but they are hard
to trace for people outside of Ireland with that in mind we have set up this
page for an American friend in the hope that some one can help them with their research.
Can we help Fill Out The Sparks family
of Sharon We believe Michael Sparks family of origin prior to
1823 came from England. When they settled in Ireland we know there was a
Cromwell castle (Rockingham castle) beside the family land in Erris, Boyle,
Co Roscommon Ireland any information on this would be welcome. Michael
Sparks, was a farmer, he married Brigid/ Bridget Mattimo(e) January 30,
1823 in Boyle Roman Catholic Church, Co Roscommon, Ireland witnesses
were Richard Sparks & Michael
Conway. 1.Thomas christened 1 Oct 1848- he was a landowner
and married Bridget Mullaney- These were Sharons great-grand-parents. #1 Thomas Sparkes and Bridget Mullaney the
Great-Grand-Parents of Sharon had the following children all born in Boyle,
Co Roscommon, Ireland 1.Michael Joseph- 10 Oct 1876 (Sharons grandfather) who emigrated to America
and died in Taunton, MA) 2.Mary Jane 9 Mar 1878 who married John Sheerin
in Boyle 22 Aug 1904 and went to Massachusetts, USA. 5. James DOB 18 Jan 1886 never married and died in
Boyle before Bea. 6.
Bridget "Bea" DOB 8 Jul 1887,married
briefly to a Cox but always lived at home. died 1968 in Boyle. 7.
Sarah died as a teen in Boyle 8.
Mary Rose DOB 8 Aug 1875, died in Boyl 9. Margaret
Anne DOB 26 Jun 1880 2. Alice never
married 3. Helen married
Harry Miller -one daughter Irene 4. Thomas April 18,
1918 married Frances Hickey -3 children: Sharon, Michael, Maureen

in Taunton, MA USA
#1 Michael Joseph had the following children all born in Taunton, MA
1. Mary married Malachy John Keane of Galway,
Ireland in Massachesetts-no children
