 REMEMBERING THE "OLD DAYS"

(S2) Truro is a cathedral city,

situated in the middle of Cornwall.

(S2) The cathedral is positioned right in the middle of all the shops.

Truro cathedral is not that old.

It was only completed in 1910...

the foundation stones having been laid in 1880 by The Prince of Wales who later became King Edward V11

It was a dull Sunday afternoon, so no nice blue skies in these pics.

(S2) The building is really beautiful.

The main walls are built of granite, which came from Mabe and St. Stephen

(S2) Here, you can see the detail above the doors.

The outer exposed mouldings etc,

are of a softer Bath stone.

(G5) Inside Truro cathedral.

Flash was used with all the G5 photos.

(S2) Inside, looking towards the opposite end.

No flash was used with any of my S2 photos.

(S2) The window.

(G5) Zoomed in detail of window.

(S2) The cathedral organ, which was blasting out quite noisily  while we were looking round.

(G5) Organ and window.

 It was a Sunday afternoon,

so perhaps it was a practice for later on.!!

(S2) Looking up at the smaller windows.
