I've been wanting to try
this for some time and the latest Prestigious Tutorial
Special gave me the chance to try.

Remember to save you work often. I
am not in the habit of giving this reminder in my tutorials, this
is something you should do automatically :o) Say's she who is
always getting caught by a dreaded PSP freeze.
OK, lets crack on.
Open the tile.jpg to use later on as a pattern
fill. Not too sure on how to do this? Click here
| 1. Open a new image, I used 500x640, with a
transparent background. Create a new raster layer, naming it
roof1. Selections/Load from disc, open roof1.sel. Flood fill
with a light grey, I used #COCOCO. Selections/Invert.
Effects/3D effects/Drop shadow at the settings shown. Ctrl+D
(Selections/Select none).

| 2.
Create a new raster layer naming it shoe. Selections/Load from
disc, open shoe.sel. Flood fill with brown, I used #623812.
3. Create a new layer naming it door
back. Selections/Load from disc, open door back.sel. Fllod fill with
black.
4.
Create a new raster layer naming it door. Selections/Load from
disc, open door.sel. Flood fill #800000 or a colour of your
choice, (the colour of the drop shadow needs to be a darker
shade of the one used to fill the door). Selections/Invert.
Apply the same drop shadow changing the vertical to 20 and the
horizontal to -20. Ctrl+D.
5. Create a new raster layer naming it doorframe.
Selections/Load from disc, open door frame.sel. Flood fill
with grey, I used #COCOCO. Ctrl+D. Effects/3D effects/Inner
bevel at the following settings.

| 6. Create a new raster layer naming it
front panel. Selections/Load from disc, open front panel.sel.
Flood fill with white. Effects/Texture effects/Blinds at the
settings shown. Selections/Invert. Effects/3D Effects/Drop
shadow at the settings shown. Ctrl+D.

| 7. Create a new raster layer naming it side panel.
Selections/Load from disc, open side panel.sel. Flood fill
with white. Effects/Texture effects/Blinds, same settings.
Selections/Invert. Effects/3D Effects/Drop shadow, change the horizontal
to -5, opacity to 69 & blur to 25.9. Ctrl+D.

| 8. Create a new layer
naming it window3. Selections/Load from disc, open
window3.sel. Flood fill with black. Ctrl+D.
Create a new
layer naming it window1. Selections/Load from disc, open
window1.sel. Flood fill with white. Ctrl+D. Apply the same
inner bevel as for step 4.
Create a new layer naming it
window2. Selections/Load from disc, open window2.sel. Flood
fill with white, Ctrl+D and repeat the inner bevel.

9. Make window3 layer active. Change
the foreground colour to grey, I used #514B4B. With the paintbrush tool ,
at the settings shown, dab a touch of paint in each corner of the window
panes.

| 10. Create a new layer naming it roof2.
Selections/Load from disc, open roof2.sel. Flood fill with the tile.jpg,
angle 0, scale 50. Selections/Invert. Effects/3D effects/Drop shadow at
the setting given. Ctrl+D.
11. Create a new layer naming it roof edge. Selections/Load
from disc, open roof edge.sel. Flood fill with #623812. Ctrl+D. Apply
the same inner bevel but change the angle to 0.

| 12. Create a new layer naming it shoe
edge. Selections/Load from disc, open shoe edge.sel. Flood fill with #704620.
Ctrl+D.

Create a new layer naming it eyelet. Selections/Load from disc, open
eyelets.sel. Flood fill with #COCOCO. Ctrl+D. Apply the same inner
bevel. Effects/3D Effects/Drop shadow at the settings shown. Repeat the
drop shadow changing the horizontal & vertical to -1 and the colour
to #AD7F57.

| We are now going to give our shoe house some
shading by using the paint tool and then applying a gaussian blur.
|
14. Make the shoe layer active. Create a new layer
naming it shading1. With the paintbrush tool, change the hardness to 50,
foreground #543010, if you have used a
different colour for your shoe this will be 8 less than the number in
the light column in your colour palette , paint some shape to
the shoe as shown. Bring the lightness of your colour down by 5, #4B2B0F,
and paint over as shown, staying on the same layer. Bring the colour
down by another 5, #42260E. Using this same shade paint some detail on
the tongue of the boot and around the eyelets. I have intentionally
gone well over the edge of the boot to make sure when the blur is
applied it covers all the boot. Effects/Blur/Gaussian
blur with a radius of 8. Selections/Load from disc, open shoe.sel.
Selections/Invert, delete. This will do away
with the edges. Ctrl+D.

| 15. Make a new layer naming it shading2. Change
the foreground colour to #703F14, this is an increase of 12 to the light
in the colour palette. Paint a highlight on the top of the toe. Change
the colour to #834B19, this is an increase of 12, add more to the
highlight. Effects/Blur/Gaussian blur with a radius of 8.
Selections/Load from disc, open shoe.sel. Selections/Invert, delete.
Ctrl+D.

16. By clicking the glasses
in the layer palette make it so that the shoe, shading1 & shading2
layers are the only one's visible. Marge layers visible. On the merged
layer lock
the transparency. Effects/3D effects/Cut out at the shown setting.
Unlock
the transparency. Effects/Noise/Add 5% uniform. Bring all layers in
to view.

| 17. Make the door back layer active.
Selections/Load from disc, open the door back.sel. Change the foreground
colour to #1F1F1F, paint in some highlight to the doorway. While still
selected apply the same gaussian blur. Add noise at the same setting,
repeat the noise on the door layer. Ctrl+D. |
