For this tutorial you will need a working knowledge of vector
shapes, KPT5 FibreOptix and my fur preset,
this needs to be extracted to KPT5/presets/FibreOptix folder.
I have had many requests for information on
where to purchase KPT5,
it is contained in the KPT Collection and is available from
Corel.
1. Open a new image with a transparent background 400 x 450. Set
the background to white, null the foreground. Select the preset shapes tool and draw an ellipse,
antialias and vector checked, #1 solid, width 1. Using the object selector
, right click your shape and
choose node edit from the menu. Pull down the bottom node. Quit node editing and slightly rotate the
shape.

Convert to raster layer and rename to face.
Ctrl+A, Ctrl+F (selects and floats). Bring up
FibreOptix and apply the bearfur preset. Crtl+D (selection none).
2. Draw another vector ellipse
over the face but slightly smaller, this will be the muzzle. Edit the node and rotate to match the angle
of the face.

When you are happy with the shape convert the layer to
raster and name muzzle.
3. Make the face layer
active. Use the retouch tool
at the settings shown, create shading around the edge of the
nuzzle.

4. Create a new layer naming it ear. With the presets shape tool draw
an ellipse, vector unchecked, for the ear. Ctrl+A ,Ctrl+F, apply the FibreOptix bearfur preset.
Ctrl+D. Layers/arrange/send to bottom. Duplicate the ear layer,
image/mirror. Move the duplicated ear until you are happy with
it's placement.

Make the face and muzzle layer
invisible, merge visible, rename the merged layer ears.
