For this tutorial you will need PSP7, KPT5 Shapeshifter or Super BladePro, Eye Candy 4000 and a pic of a loved one measuring 179x248.

Unzip the locket glass to Eye Candy 4000/Eye Candy 4000 Settings/Glass folder, the locket bevel to Eye Candy 4000/Eye Candy 4000 Settings/BevelBoss folder and the Di's Delights locket to KPT5/Presets/Shapeshifter folder.

1. Open a transparent image 450x350. Create a new layer naming it rim. Select the Preset Shapes tool setting the foreground colour to white and null the background. Select the ellipse shape, antialias checked, set the line width to 14. Move your mouse over your work area and look at the bottom left hand corner, you should see 2 sets of numbers, start your ellipse at 25, 60 and drag it out to 212, 320. Right click your rim layer in the layer palette and duplicate the layer, image/mirror.

2. Click on the rim layer (not the duplicate) to make it active. With the preset shapes tool, ellipse, line width set to 8 draw another ellipse starting at 110,20 and dragging it to 135, 55. Selections/select all, Selections/float. Go to effects/plugin filters/KPT5/KPT5 Shapeshifter, use my locket preset and cool kitchen as the environment and apply the effect, Selections/select none. If you do not have KPT 5 a gold BladePro preset gives a great effect, I used the Gold Basic preset.

3. Click on the copy of rim layer to make active. Selections/select all, Selections/float. Apply either the ShapeShifter preset or the Super BladePro preset as before. Selections/Select none.

4. Open the image that you wish to put inside the locket, the actual size of the visible image is 176x248 so if your image is bigger than this you will need to resize it. After resizing don't forget to sharpen, I usually go to Effects/Sharpen/Unsharp mask with a radius of 1.00, strength 75, clipping 0. Copy the image and then click on your locket to make it active and paste as a new layer. In the layer palette drag layer3 down below your rim layer.

5. Now move your image so that you are happy with it's placement behind the rim. Click on the rim layer, with the magic wand click on the inside of the rim, Selections/modify/expand by 2, Selections/Invert. Click on layer3 and delete, Selections/Select none, hint if you have not inverted your selection the inner part of your image will disappear :o( Go to Effects/plugin filters/Eye Candy 4000/Glass and use my locket preset. 

6. In the layer palette click on your copy of rim layer to make active, with the magic wand click on the inside of the rim, Selections/Modify/Expand by 2. Create a new layer and in the layer palette drag it beneath the copy of rim layer.

With the flood fill tool fill with #E0C292. Go to Effects/plugin filters/Eye Candy 4000/Bevel boss and use my locket preset. Selections/None.

8. Making sure that layer 4 is still active create a new layer naming it text. Use the text tool, font and size is up to you but make sure antialias and floating are checked, doesn't matter what colour you use. Move the text so that it is central, Selections/Defloat. Effects/3D effects/Cutout, colour black, vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 76, blur 2.5. Effects/3D effects/ Drop shadow, colour white, fill none, vertical and horizontal 1, opacity 100, blur 0. Selections/Select none. It is important that you remember to defloat the text otherwise when you apply the cutout the text colour will remain.

9. Click on layer one and create a new layer naming it hinge. With the preset shape tool set the foreground and background to white, line width 1, antialias checked draw a rectangle starting at 221,160 and dragging down to 229,180. Selections/select all, Selections/Float. Apply the KPT5 shapeshifter preset as before. Effects/3D effects/Inner bevel at these settings -

If you are using Super BladePro you will not need to apply the inner bevel. Magnify your image, copy and paste as new selection, place the second hinge below the first, paste as selection and place the third hinge below the second.

There you have a locket. To save for future use click on the glasses in layer 3 to make it invisible and merge visible layers and save as a psp file, this way you can simply insert a new picture when you need instead of starting from scratch.

If you do not have KPT5 then the results are just as good when Super BladePro is used.
