For this tutorial you will need to download these tubes. If you are experienced with PSP I am also supplying plain white tubes so that you can apply your own effect. Click on the image for the zip file.

1. Open a new image 400 x 400 with a transparent background. Go to your layer palette and create a new raster layer naming it basket. Select a very dark green as your foreground colour and with the preset shapes tool draw a circle, style filled, antialias checked. The size of the circle needs to be 171x171 (keep an eye on the figures at the bottom left of the screen and you will see the size there).

With your selection tool set to rectangle select the top of the circle and delete. Now go to image-noise-add, set at 25% and check random box. With the mover tool move the basket to the bottom right of the workspace.

2. Create a new layer naming it Chain. With your tube tool select the DDchain, scale 32, placement continuous, step 44. Place your curser at 248, 64 and click now hold the shift key and place your curser at 248, 240 and click. You should now have a continuous chain link. Go to your layer palette and duplicate the chain layer, go to image-rotate to the left by 26 degrees, all layers unchecked, OK. Go to image-sharpen. Duplicate this layer and go to image-mirror then image-sharpen. Now move the chain links so that they align together at the top and the outer two connect to the edge of the basket. Click on the glasses of the basket layer to make invisible then right click one of the other layers and merge visible. Go to your layer palette and click and hold on the basket layer and drag it up so that it is the top layer.

3. Go to your layer palette and create a new raster layer naming it ring. With the tube tool select the DDring, size 40. Place this near the top of the chain. Create a new layer naming it bracket and use the tube tool selecting the DDbracket at 100%. Place this near the ring.

4. It may be easier to magnify the image here so that you can see what you're doing. Click on the ring layer to make it active, with the selection tool set to rectangle draw around the ring and click on it to get the marching ants. Now click on the bracket layer and get the eraser and rub out the part of the bracket to the left that overlaps the ring. Select none. Merge visible and there you have your basket all you need to do now is fill it with flowers.
