PSP8  Pixel Daffodil Tut

This tutorial has been written using PSP8 but should work in PSP7. Please take the time to read my terms.

Rather than me giving screen shots showing how many pixels please drag this image to your work area to use as a template.

1. Image, increase colour depth to 16 million colours. Layers - Promote background to layer. With the magic wand , tolerance 0, feather 0, mode = add, select the white areas of the image and delete so you only have the outlines. Or create a new layer and with the paint brush at size 1 trace over the outlines using your own colours.

note - for PSP7, hold Shft while using the magic wand to select all the white areas.

Ctrl+D.

2. With the magic wand, replace, click inside area 1 of the flower (see screen shot). Flood fill with #FFFF00. Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout at the settings given. Ctrl+D.

Repeat for area 2, changing the vertical to 1, horizontal to -5 of the cutout.

Repeat for area 3, 4, 5 & 6, changing the vertical to -4, horizontal to 0 of the cutout.

Set the foreground to #EAA500, background to #FFFF00. Select the gradient of the foreground fill. In the properties box of the gradient fill choose foreground-background, sunburst, horizontal 0, vertical 27.

With the magic wand click inside area 7, fill with the gradient.
