PSP8 Pixel Daffodil Tut
This tutorial has been written using PSP8 but should
work in PSP7. Please take the time to read our terms.
I am so pleased you walked with me :o) Save this
image to your hard drive and open it in PSP.

1. Image, increase colour depth to 16 million
colours. Layers - Promote background to layer. With the magic wand ,
tolerance 0, feather 0, mode = add, select the white areas of the image
and delete so you only have the outlines. Or create a new
layer and with the paint brush at size 1 trace over the outlines using your
own colours.
note - for PSP7, hold Shft while using the magic
wand to select all the white areas.
Ctrl+D.

| 2. With the magic wand, click
inside area 1 of the screen shot. Flood fill with #FFFF00. Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout at the
settings given. Ctrl+D.
Repeat for area 2, changing the horizontal of the cutout to -2.
Repeat for area 3, changing the vertical & horizontal of the cutout
to -2.

Horizontal 2
Opacity 100
Blur 6
Shadow Colour #FFC71D
Fill Colour #FFFF00

| Repeat for area 4 & 5, changing
the vertical to -2 & horizontal to 1 of the cutout.
Repeat for area 6, changing the vertical & horizontal of the cutout
to 1.

Set the foreground to #EAA500, background to #FFFF00. Select the gradient
of the foreground fill. In the properties box of the gradient fill choose
foreground-background, sunburst, horizontal 25, vertical 22.
With the magic wand click inside area 7, fill with the gradient.

| 3. Set the foreground to #F9E34F. Still
with the marching ants, paint brush at size 1, paint one pixel at a time
around the edge of the selection (magnify your image to about 800%). Putting
in a couple of small lines.
Towards the center of the darker colour, paint a couple of pixels. Change
the colour to #EEC11E and paint a couple more (see screen shot). Ctrl+D.
Change the colour to #F5D732 and paint some lines on to the petals.

| 4. Open the daffodil tube you
made previously. Shft+D to open a duplicate image, close the original.
Magnify the image to about 600%. With the eraser, size 2, carefully erase
just the flower.
Go back to the flower image, copy. Go back to the other image and paste
as a new layer. Move the flower into position over the stem and leaves.
Save as a tube or in PSP format. |
