5. OK, now we'll do the face so we will need to make another vector eclipse. Draw an eclipse slightly narrower than the face and edit and add nodes. The only edge to show will be the sides so don't worry too much about the bottom and the top.

Once you are happy with the shape convert it to a raster layer and name it face. With the selection tool draw around the shape and click to select then apply the FibreOptix fur preset. Selections/none, then drag the face layer below your merged layer. Click on the merged layer to make it active and with the magic wand select the outer area, selections/invert, selections/modify/contact by 2. Create a new layer and call it shadow, the settings are the same except vertical and horizontal need to be changed to -4. Selections/none. Drag the shadow layer below the merged layer. Click the face layer to make it active and with the magic wand select the outer area, selections/modify/expand by 2. Click the shadow layer to make it active and hit delete. Selections/none.

OK, we're about half way there, I hope you're still with me and haven't given up.

6. Right, we'll start on the hat. We need another vector shape, eclipse again, node edited to give it the shape of the rim, this eclipse needs to be wide and thin. When you are happy with the shape convert the layer to a raster layer and call it brim, with the selection tool draw around it and click to select, apply the FibreOptix bobble preset.

7. The body of the hat and the antlers have got to be the most complicated to do, if you've got this far then don't give up. We'll make another vector eclipse for the hat with the foreground set to red and node edit until you are happy with the shape, convert to raster layer and call it hat. Draw around the hat with your selection tool then apply the FibreOptix hat preset. Selections/none, then drag the hat layer beneath the brim layer.

Phew!
