My Opinion

Magicland Dizzy is just like Fantasy World Dizzy, only more so. The graphic style is very similar, the puzzles and plot borrow even more from popular mythology and culture than it's predescesor, and Daisy again finds herself in big trouble (I do mean big trouble). Yet despite all this (or perhaps, because of it), Dizzy4 stands proudly among the rest of the Dizzy series.

Overall, Dizzy4 is an excellent Dizzy game; Solid puzzles, good audio-visuals, and a fantastic atmosphere. It's not my personal favourite, but then again, I'm a little biased.

My Best Bits

  1. In what seems to be a parody of the novel "Alice through the Looking Glass" by Lewis Caroll, Dizzy spends some time in a mirror world where everything isn't quite the right way round…
  2. I had a good laugh (and cry) while trying to reach the harpy who sits above the volcano.
  3. There's a nice Lord of the Rings style puzzle near the end of the game; a part I'm particularly fond of since I'm a Tolkien fan.
