Biography

Born the 3rd of June 1975 in Paris, Aimeline is one of the too rare Female Salsa DJs in the World.

She fell in love with Salsa Music in Spain in 1995 during a professional trip to Madrid. While getting back to Paris she started to listen the only Salsa Radio in Paris : Radio Latina 99FM and started to go out in Salsa Clubs like Les Etoiles or La Java. Little by little, she began to be a salsa dance addict taking 8 hours of salsa classes per week.

The first salsa CD she bought was a Fania All Stars Best Off… and finally she decided to dedicate to salsa music. Her boyfriend of the moment who was the famous salsa DJ and teacher in Pachanga Alf noticed that she was getting more and more interested in that music. He suggested her to ask the Pachanga Boss to put music in his club. But she wasn’t ready to rise to that challenge as she considered she needed to buy more CDs and more time to work on it.

But the idea was there, she wanted, one day or the other to make all these salsa dancers dancing on the tunes she would choose by herself. During an entire year, she worked  to find her own style, listening a hundred salsa CDs and taking notes on each track lists. She also begun to be popular on the Salsa scene with the association Sals’Appeal. She organized workshops with foreign teachers : Leon Rose, Super Mario, Irene Miguel and Edgar Del Rosario.

Finally in April 2001 she came back to her ex boyfriend and told him that now she was ready to do it ! He accepted to be her “DJ godfather” and gave her a first opportunity to put salsa in a little club called BoerII with him on the Sunday afternoons. She remember the adrenaline pressure she felt while handling all this equipment, while choosing the good tune to make people dancing… whaou, it was so good !!!

From the beginning her style was different from the other DJs as she didn’t want to imitate them. She’s a women and indisputably her sensitivity to music and rhythm is unique. She loves Mambo from the Palladium era to the Mambo Jazz, she loves Salsa Gorda, Salsa tunes with strong rhythm and good piano or timbales or congas solos. Now with the time she knows how to be in harmony with the public but she doesn’t want systematically to give in to commercial songs. She prefers to surprise them with scrupulously chosen songs.

In august 2001, she created with two good friends Guayacan_ and Gabriel LA ALTERNATIVA a DJs Team who get very famous and played every fridays in Les Etoiles.

Now she’s still working with La Alternativa but she’s also getting her own reputation as DJ AIMELINE.

On year 2002 she started to DJing for International Salsa Festivals : Marseille, Barcelona, London and Berlin and she put Salsa in all the Parisian clubs. Year 2003 will be Zurich, Oslo, Varsovia... and more projects to come.

In November 2002, during a party in Pachanga, the Boss came to her and proposed her to be the Wednesday DJ.

Her ambition is always the same : make people dance, share with them her passion for this music and make them discover new songs.

Her dream is to go to New York City and San Juan de Puerto Rico to discover the salsa scene and to travel all over the world as an International DJ

The most beautiful gift you can give her is only a mocking look, a nice smile with a “Yeahh that sounds good”
