| Biography |
Hailing from Caracas, Venezuela, Miguel started as a Salsa tutor
7 years ago, while in Glasgow (Scotland) along a couple of friends. Since
1997 he is based in Ipswich, East Anglia, where he successfully re-started
his classes, with his Rueda class being the most "sought-after"
class in the region.
An unconditional lover of Casino (Cuban Street Salsa style), with
also a big interest in L.A. style, he has ever since learned and worked
along other top Salsa instructors like Homero González, Farah Portela,
Duncan Kane, Rohan Brown, etc; achieving a modest
but solid reputation within the UK Salsa scene, being invited to
teach several times at the Pontin's weekends, which open him the
opportunity to teach across the country and also abroad.
He started DJing in 1998, at a small wine bar in Ipswich. A year
later he kicked off the first Saturday Salsa night in Ipswich and
now is resident DJ of "Palo Pa' Rumba": the biggest Salsa night
in the whole East Anglia, catering for up to 250 people. Not bad,
when considering he teaches on a weekly basis and has (like any
other mortal) a 9-to-5 job.
