About Us.

Dove Valley Amateur Swimming Club was established in 1985.

It is a member of the Amateur Swimming Association (A.S.A.) and operates within the rules and guide lines set out by the A.S.A. both in the administration of the club and also the running of its competitions.

The Club is run by volunteers and is administered through 2 committees:

  • The General Committee which oversees the running of the club and its finances.
  • The Coaching Committee which oversees the training and competitive activities of the Club.

Dove Valley is a competitive club dedicated to training swimmers to the best of their ability.

The purpose of the club is not solely to teach children to swim it is to develop a squad of swimmers able to compete effectively in all of the galas that we enter. For more information on our gala programme click on the link or the Galas button.

There are many qualified individuals amongst the coaching team and many of the poolside assistants have gained qualifications to ensure that the club keeps its training techniques up to date.

The teaching is structured to encourage good stroke technique to comply with the rules and regulations set out by the A.S.A. This is supplemented by a progressive programme of fitness training in order to develop the stamina required at competition level.

For any more information about the club please feel free to contact us and we will endeavour to answer you query.
