The DraKen Lair

Update for 2007 02 23
Well it appears that I've been Wikied after all these years. You'll noticed that this site has been horribly neglected. I will begin tracking site usage to determine if I should revive it, given the fact that Wildstorms resources on the web have been steadily dwindling for some time now. Please do not abuse the hit counter, as I would like to obtain a fair sample of the actual utility that my site is providing to you, the Wildstorms fans. If you have any questions or comments please direct them to drakenlair@hotmail.com. Thank you.

  What is Wildstorms?

Wildstorms: The Expandable Super-Hero Collectible Card Game is a battle-oriented game set in the Wildstorm Universe. Players use customized decks of cards to beat the living tar out of their opponents in a distinct comic book-style battle system. Combatants include most of the Image-era Wildstorm characters, as well as some characters from elsewhere in the Image Universe.

Although Wildstorm stopped production of the game in 1997, Wildstorms CCG is still actively played online at The CCG Workshop.

  What is CCG Workshop?

CCG Workshop is a fan-based organization dedicated to adapting collectable card games (CCG's) for online play using their proprietary gEngine application and gNet, its integrated network service. CCG Workshop and all associated applications were created by Ed Mittelstedt (a.k.a. BugLaden).

CCG Workshop hosts numerous playable games, both currently published and discontinued. There are no sign-up fees, no subscription fees, and no hidden fees. With exception of a few select games, playing online via gEngine is available to anyone, anywhere, without charge.

To sign up, visit the website at www.ccg-workshop.com. And no, there are no obligations, and you will not be pounded with spam mail. The Workshop is just for gamers who love to game, pure and simple.

CCG Workshop is the first successful organization of its type. Currently, it is also the only successful organization of its type. That said, it is the only place where you can play Wildstorms CCG against a decent player base (with players hailing from around the world).
