HAVE A LOOK AT ALL THESE RECIPES YOU CAN TRY AT HOME:

After experimenting with so many commercial products, I have now decided that natural and home made hair/body care is the best option for me.

It has given me better results, costs much less and in the long run, my locs and body feel vibrant and healthy.

Give it a try and see how much fun it can be!

A must have... A good spritz.

I always carry my spritz bottle with me and my soft bristle brush -During the day, I would simply spray and brush whenever my locs need a boost.

Great for both Summer and Winter -I use a different mixture depending on the season.

All my spritz recipes are water based.

HAIR

* HAIR REPAIR *

Apply a generous amount of pure olive oil on your locs. The amount of olive oil you use depends on your hair lenght but BE GENEROUS! Add an egg yolk for extra moisture if you feel you need it. Use a shower cap to cover it and leave in for as long as you can (overnight if you can handle it!). After your hair and scalp has taken this time to absorb the oil, wash your hair thoroughly with a cleansing shampoo.

* LOSS OF HAIR *

Essential oils can easily be added to any of the recipes given. For hair loss, the essential oils that are good to use are Juniper, Lavendar and Rosemary.
Add the following drops to the olive oil recipe above...

Juniper - 7 drops
Lavender - 9 drops
Rosemary - 9drops

If you are going to use oils at any stage, make sure you mix it in thoroughly first with the olive oil before applying to scalp and hair.

* FOR GREASY HAIR OR DANDRUFF *

Again, I am using the olive oil treatment, but with different oils. I would add 2 tablespoons of lemonjuice instead of the egg yolk and add the following essential oils...

Cedarwood - 7 drops
Cypress - 9 drops
Juniper - 9drops

Mix everything together before applying.

BODY

* SCRUBS *

Salt straight from your kitchen is a good way of creating a good scrub with your favourite moisturising shower gel... it gets
rid of all the dead skin cells, its not too harsh on the skin and it washes away easily with no fuss. So add a few tablespoons
of that salt in and scrub.

* FACE MASK *

I love using honey on my face... it moisturises and balances both oily and dry skin, leaving the skin feeling really fresh
afterwards. Just put the honey on and leave on for as much time as you want.
