Something new from Africa
Various: Something New From Africa - Decca LK 4292 (1959)

One of the few albums to come out of the kwela boom in the UK that followed the success of "Tom Hark", this is a wonderful anthology of whistle players in various settings, including as part of a jazz band, and accompanying a vocalist (Miriam Makeba, no less). There's an interesting sleeve note from the late jazz critic, Peter Clayton.
