AFC Rumney v Marlboro Eagles

Following last weeks excellent ten man performance the Eagles hoped to continue the good form with this visit to Rumney. However, the game couldn't have started in a worse manner with the lads going a goal down within a minute. Prospects looked even bleaker after 5 minutes with another Rumney attack resulting in a second goal. To the lads credit, they pulled things together and drew level before half time with two superb strikes from Niall and Alessandro after some highly constructive approach play from the midfield.

The second half saw the Rumney attack afforded too much space in the middle channel and some excellent saves by Will and a excellent second goal by Niall were ultimately futile. Runmey took the spoils 7-3.

On the postive side it was good to have more than eleven players, much needed in the event of Hassan's ankle injury in the second half.

A big welcome to Matthew who played in his first match for the Eagles and put in an excellent battling performance: with two Mathews we'll have to make sure we don't get mixed up! Good to see Jon returning after several weeks out with flu.
