A wet dismal morning greeted the lads at Splott
Park. The pitch was however very firm and at there was no wind! The lads
started well and competed at 0-0 for 20 minutes but fell behind when
outflanked midway through the first half. Things could have been worse but
for some fine defensive positioning by Niall who was twice on hand to clear
goal bound efforts. Around the same time Matthew was forced to leave the
fray with a hamstring injury to be replaced by Matthew!
It was 1-0 at the turnaround and the game might have gone either way. However, the Dons were forcing more chances and they duly converted two to take a 3-0 goal lead. With Eagle goal attempts becoming rather rare the game finished on the same score. One point of note..a big welcome to Daniel appearing in his first game for the Eagles.
