Marlboro  Eagles v Marlboro Colts                     (A v B)

This morning saw the Eagles welcome their Marlboro Club colleagues Marlboro B to Heath Park for the much awaited derby! Despite rain and some very clever driving on Friday night the match went ahead on a slightly soggy pitch!

Some tight defending and excellent attacking forays saw the Eagles have the better of the first half but their only reward came from an Owen free kick which took a deflection on the way to the back of the net. Michael left the field with a badly swollen hand after an accidental stamp  and was replaced by John coming on to Join Ieuan for both lads first games.

Excellent positional sense by the Colts keeper saw the score remain at 1-0 at half time.

The second half saw both sides coping well on the sloping pitch but gradually the Eagles dominance told with Joey putting away the second. A goal mouth scramble saw the Colts pull one back half way through the half but Jonathan was on hand to restore the Eagles two goal advantage.

An excellent match played with good spirit by both sides. The referee deserves a mention after a faultless performance in the middle.

Result: Marlboro Eagles  3 Marlboro B 1
