In January 2003 I joined
the Royal College of Midwives as
Information Services Manager. Prior to this I had managed the library at
the South London and Maudsley NHS
Trust, Landor Road site, for seven years.
In November 2001 I obtained an M.Sc. Information Science (Computerised Library Systems) from University College London. My professional interests include web site design, web usability, electronic journals, library system technologies, and clinician information use. Until recently I maintained a midwifery information weblog, http://midwifery-info.blogspot.com, but have now had to abandon this owing to pressure of other work. My main diversions are choral singing (with the choir of St Luke's, Chelsea, whose Web site I edit) and walking. Since September 2003 I have been attending Welsh evening classes at the London Welsh Centre, Gray's Inn Road. I have a delightful small garden, which I neglect sadly, never having time to look after it properly. I share my house with four cats. I am a keen cyclist and advocate of cycle commuting within London; the reduction in traffic following the introduction of the congestion charge has made it easier and safer. |
