This depicts the Aln Valley railway as it may appear when the Aln Valley Railway Society reopens the line in a few years time. The bar above shows the route in relation to the East Coast Main Line and my other route, the Tyne Valley line.
You drive from Alnmouth, where the Aln Valley platform is alongside the East Coast Main Line down platform. You follow the route of the Alnwick branch, closed in 1968. You cross the A1 and South Road in Alnwick on new bridges. You arrive at Platform 1, stopping outside the station building. Maximum line speed is 25mph (40Kmh), and 10mph (16Kmh) through all switches.
In BVE 2, there are versions for the J36 steam loco and the class 104 DMU. In BVE 4, there are versions for the class 104 DMU and the class 37 locomotive. The BVE 4 version features working semaphore signals, and you’ll need to download them separately from trainsim central.
Please see the credits text file included with the routes. Grateful thanks to all who have contributed to this BVE railway.
