Correction to +2 Mainboard & Tape Sub Board photos page,
thanks to Doogie for pointing this out.

Trawled the links page and updated any out of date links.

Just a note, this site is basically dead.
Things have moved on now and most of the information from here
can be found over at the World of Spectrum site.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed over the years
especially Ian for all his help.

Got this a while back 09 November 2004,
"During the last 30 days, your website on Tripod
(http://members.lycos.co.uk/eightbitula) achieved 4335 pages
impressions. This makes your site one of the most popular of the Tripod
community in United Kingdom."

Updated the repairs page.
Ian is currently very busy and now unable to undertake repair work.

Few notes and a request for information.

If you get an old Spectrum that has not been powered up in a while,
then it seems that the electrolytic capacitors are now drying out and failing,
in particular C44 and C45 are most prone to this. Though it may be an idea
to check all the electrolytic capacitors including the ones in the PSU unit.

There is another issue with later model Spectrums producing bad pictures,
as of yet no solution has been found but maybe it is related to the capacitor problems.
If you have any information about this please get in touch.

:: Request ::
This might sound a bit odd but does anyone know either the specifications
to the Spectrum coil/s for making a new one or of a generally available substitute.
Along with the ULA, this seems to be a mystery component.
