In World War I, Dorothy's first husband, Walter Fletcher, was a commander of a destroyer on the China Station. While there he contracted a dreadful disease and was invalided out and died in 1917. Dorothy married again to William Miskin of Great Chart and came to Bodsham in 1919. Dorothy's son Wyndham Fletcher, who still lives at Bodsham (Bodsham Lodge) with his wife Elizabeth, will be 91 on 5 August 2001.
