Many children spend too much time inactive in front of the TV and computer. As well as providing a child with the exercise essential for a healthy physical development sports also help children to develop interactive skills in an environment outside of the constraints of a school classroom. Team sports provide children with a sense of community, comradeship and achievement.

Rugby is an excellent way of giving a child all of the above plus more. Good rugby requires excellent teamwork through passing, scrums, rucks, mauls and line outs. Individual moments of skill are important, but it is the collaboration between players that wins games.

Playing rugby helps a child to develop confidence in physical contact within a structured introduction of skills from touch tackles, through full tackle to mauls. All this with the development of respect for members of the opposing team that acknowledges the 'give-and-take' of the game and the need for a sense of 'fair play'.

For the parents mini rugby provides motivation to get up and actually do something on a Sunday morning :). All this within a friendly and social environment in which the collective efforts of members can be seen to create magical moments for the memories of players and parents alike.
