Harry Potter is the main character of the series with the same name.
When he was just a baby, his parents were both murdered by the dark wizard Voldemort. When Voldemort tried to do the same to him (using his wand and the killing curse), it backfired, leaving Voldemort extremely weak and powerless, while it only left a lightening-bolt shaped scar on Harry's forehead.
At this point, Harry was turned over to his only living relatives, the Dursleys. 
His aunt (Petunia Dursley) was his mother's sister, and she having no magical powers of her own absolutely hated Harry and his mother. The Dursleys never spoke of magic and never ever told Harry of the truth of how his parents died.

Eventually, Harry does find this out as he is accepted into Hogwarts, and discovers he's a wizard. Harry is amazing at the wizarding sport, Quidditch, and is very famous among his peers for being the sole-survivor of Voldemort's attack.  But Harry cannot live a normal wizard life. His scar hurts him every time Voldemort regains power, kills or comes closer. But this is not all... Voldemort is after his life!
