Everyone knows of the popular British novel series created by J.K. Rowling and movie adaptations of it. 

What About?

The story (Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone) is about a 11-year-old boy named Harry Potter. He goes about his life, living with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and Cousin Dudley Dursley. The Dursleys all mistreat him constantly and starve him. They never speak of his parents, but he was told they died in a car crash.

 One day, a strange owl flies by their house during daylight. Suddenly, mails come flying through the house, all addressed to "Mr. Harry Potter"...

Soon, Harry discovers he's a wizard! And he's been invited to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Where he meets his new friends Ron and Hermione, his new enemy Draco Malfoy and finds out about the evil dark wizard, Lord Voldemort...

Cherry:
 I have to admit I was not one of those love-at-first-read Potter fans. When I read the first paragraph for the first time, I thought it was kind of boring. I read it again before seeing the second movie a couple years later, and actually thought it was pretty good. The story is very interesting. Its an ongoing series which is intended to have 7 installments. The basic theme is fantasy/adventure. The story does  get darker as it goes on-- people die, feelings are more intense, and situations get risky and more mysterious. The story takes place in a world which is make believe within a world of reality, but the characters seem so real and are actually relatable. At the end of each book, it has you wondering, "okay, what is going to happen next?" It leaves you really wanting more. If you haven't. I strongly suggest you read these books!
