Chapter 1 (a hunt for body parts…)
Temple of Tyr
Tip: merchants tend to sell maps of the districts so buy them (only 3 gp). Maps will make your life easier.
You find yourself in a sanatorium where Fenthik and Desther await you. Desther will be very rude and suspicious but you can get back at him if you have high Wisdom (very funny comments). Next, go meet Aribeth in the next room. She will recruit you for a mission to get the Waterdhavian creatures back. She gives you some tips and says that something awful has happened in the Peninsula District. It's a good place to start your search. Although no matter which district you explore first, it is advisable to start with Peninsula District because the enemies will be pretty easy, excluding some. Oh yeah, Aribeth gave you the Stone of Recall which is actually the best item in the game (just kidding). You can teleport to the room where Aribeth is with this item and it can save you during a battle. It has unlimited uses so you can feel free about using it. But if you're into roleplay a lot, you should limit its use. In the "Aribeth" room (it's actually a temple) there is one door that isn't locked (besides the door you walked in… called "Oleff's Room") and there you can find Oleff who can offer a job to paladins or clerics or anyone who can persuade well. He wants you to go to Peninsula District and check with archaeologists who discovered the tomb of Never (or something like that). In the main temple room where Aribeth is, you can hire Tomi the rogue as your henchman. You can of course consider other options.
City Core
Other henchmen are at the Trade of Blades. You really should choose yourself whether to have a henchman or not and if so then who. I can only state the obvious: if you're a wizard, then choose a fighter type henchman and if you're a fighter of any type then choose a rogue or a bard or a cleric. The sorcerer henchman is not very good because he selects most powerful spells first and uses them on weak creatures such as goblins (imagine fighting someone really powerful and he casts let's say Finger of Death at a goblin…). But it's always your choice. You decide. Alright, back to the game. When you leave the temple, Bethany comes running at you screaming for help. The Peninsula District is overrun and she wants you to clear it out. Help or not? Decide yourself. Good characters will want to help, naturally, and evil ones will be cruel. Before heading to the Peninsula District, let's have a look at other interesting places in the City Core.
Moonstone Mask. I really haven't explored much here so it may be up to you to find out more. The owner, Ophala, will give a quest for a thieving person or someone who can persuade. You need to steal three artworks that are kept in three mansions in the districts. The mansions are really easy to find when you're after the creatures so I leave this quest to you (actually I don't remember the details of this quest and I will update it when I have them. Two mansions are in the Blacklake district and the last one is in the Docks).
Shining Knight's arms and armour. The shop keeper can give you access to the "premium items" if your character has some fighting abilities… if not, then good old persuade does the trick. In the "special items basement" the dwarf will make special armour and weapons for you as long as you provide components for them and have some gold on you. He can give you a book with all recipes for the items.
The Cloaktower. This is only for characters that study arcane magic (wizards, sorcerers). The host of this tower will give you a quest to bring four components from four districts. The houses are marked with a sun dial/clock and contain an elemental (if my memory doesn't fail me). This quest is fairly easy and you get a nice cloak as a reward. I will probably put maps with house locations later. The houses aren't marked on the map but you should find them if you explore a bit.
Trade of Blades. You can hire all NPCs except Tomi here and also you can talk to Graxx and if you're a fighter, get a Gauntlet pass. You show this pass to a bartender in the Blacklake district at the Board Laid Bare tavern/inn.
