Founder

Happy Faces was founded by Jane in 1993.

Jane was also the person behind the concept of FACE.

FACE – The Face Painting Association

In 1993 Jane recognized a need for a professional standard of practice amongst face painters. She also wished to establish a forum of communication between face painters with the purpose of instigating good practice amongst those working with children.

With this in mind, she contacted several other professional face painters from various parts of the UK. Jane then arranged and organized a meeting (in the Grey Lady, near Bradgate Park) at which FACE, The Face Painting Association was formed.

Jane was anxious that the association should be vital and respond to the changing needs of face painters and their clients, yet be professional and democratically run by an elected committee. With this in mind, Jane researched and wrote the FACE Constitution, which was adopted by the first committee and remains the fulcrum for the association.

From that time, FACE has grown and is well known in the world of entertainers and the general public as setting the standard for face painting.
