The 2005 Fayre saw a Fabulous new venue the The Yacht Club, with an expanded events format and the Fabulous Fezheads providing entertainment for Saturday Night.

THIS YEAR'S ORDER OF EVENTS RAN AS FOLLOWS:

12.00 noon - The Fig & Date Fayre Officially opened with the presentation of this seasons Figs & Dates followed by the singing of the Traditional Fig & Date Song and a brief performance by the Fabulous Fezheads of the Fig & Date Dance.

12.30pm – Commence the Dancing.

Dance performances from our invited guests.

All Teams wishing to perform seeked out ‘FATHER KEN’ our official Fig & Date Dance Coordinator, and his Team.

NB: In time Honoured Tradition, Father Ken awarded a special ‘Berthsiva’ prize to the most (in his opinion) Entertaining Dancing Display of the Day

Our now almost legendary afternoon Music Session was nearly lead by the celebrated ‘Colonel’ George Gaddafi who nearly took notes and later nearly presented his ‘Finger Licking Good’ prize for the most tasty ‘folk tune du jour’ while displaying outrageous (and totally unnecessary) folksiness, or to the contributor of the most free drinks to the judge.

2.00pm The Games Commenced !

Eye of the Camel - Each team nominated two Champions to Spit Date Stones through the eye of a Camel. Each Champion has three dates per round. This event was run as an eliminator with increasing spitting distances.

Fruit Rounders - Teams of Three - an Exciting Event of Danger and Tension!

Fig and Spoon race - Relay teams of 6 in Classic Fig & Date Tradition.

Vegetable Conkers - another Exciting Event of Danger and Tension!

Fig Roulette - Up to two Champions per team were required to subject themselves to 'Fig or Die'. The Roulette Wheel is spun with the winner being given the choice of retirement or a tasty Chillyfig to stay in the game. Chillyfig must be eaten to stay in - increasing Chillyfigs per round – Last man standing wins!

Belly Dance competition - Open to allcommers - Judgment by Experts.

7.00pm Jenny McCormick unfortunately cancelled due to a sinus scrape...lovely!

8.00pm - The Fig & Date Band featuring the Kebab Twins, Adonis and Marcus, Phil the Hun, Rob the Fiddler, Lemon Fez, The Flying Cleggett on ukelele! and Chemical Ali, plus special guests. This musical wing of Fabulous Fezheads boast many top flight appearances, including 3 stage shows at last years Glastonbury Festival, and Guildfest 2004.

9.00pm - Pete the Flying Cleggett Comedy Stuntman Singer Pete performed some well known comedy folk classics

9.30pm - The Fabulous Fezheads will astound and astonish

10.00pm - Fig & Date Band continue into the night
