I like Football Fixed
Odds betting. It neutralises all the problems that other gambling games
have;
Horse (and
greyhound) Racing
- Too many horses
means too many potential outcomes. In FFO there can only be a home
win, a draw, or an away win (represented on the coupon by 1, X, or 2
respectively). The only time there are other outcomes are when a
match is called off (these games are often where the bookies make
most of their money), or on correct score betting.
- Too many variables.
In FFO your selection method can be as easy or as complex as you
like.
Lottery
- Too little
chance of winning. In the Lottery the odds are over 15 million to
one. In FFO we can bring these right down so that there is more
chance of you winning than losing.
Roulette
- The chance of
getting carried away. This also applies to horse and greyhound
racing and playing fruit machines. Once a big win has come in it can
all be lost very easily chance another one. With FFO you know
exactly how much you have put on, and you can’t get carried away
and put any more on until next week.
- The hassle of going
out to a casino. It is fun once in a while, but impractical to do it
on a regular basis. This also applies to Blackjack.
Blackjack
- Unless you can be
bothered to learn a counting system the odds are against you. For
betting on FFO there is nothing that needs to be memorised.
- Even if you do learn
to card count, if you get caught – and it is most probable that
you will – you will not be able to play in that casino again, and
you may well be barred from all the other local casinos.
Poker
- Difficult to become
really good. Again, FFO takes no learning.
- You are always
playing against other people, and how well you do depends on how
good they are. In FFO you are not against anyone (except maybe the
bookmakers).
These factors, among
others, make Football Fixed Odds, for me, the best gambling opportunity
