These pictures were taking at the shotblasters and when I got the bus home; April '03












April, '03 -

Collecting the bus from the shotblasters, good job, don't you think. Fully Shotblasted all over, all running gear has been
shotblasted, front beam is not rotten, all the reduction boxes are better than new, you can visibly see the VW stamp on the
bottom, Loads of Holes, Worst areas are as follows:

Cab Floor
Roof Gutters
Holes in Roof
Cargo Floor
Front Valance
Rear Engine Lid fixing panel
Passenger side sill
 
November, '03
 
Started work on the panel this month.... Loads a work to do, started grinding down old welds that the previous owner had left. Bought all the panels from Alan Schofields and collected them from Slough Swapmeet. Ready to start welding now.


November 15th 2003 - Cutting out the old inner
sill (outer sill wasn't there!!), and cutting out the
old rotten outriggers, and prepping the chassis rails for replacement 




17th November 2003 - Finished cleaning up the cross members and cutting out the old out riggers. Went on to cut out the ORIGINAL floor... don't worry it was full of holes where the original owner had a toilet!!!! It wasn't easy cutting away at a 50
