Also on the 1881 census was William Brailsford aged 74,  the same William baptised at Sheffield in 1806, he was living at The Lawns in Mansfield, at the house with him was his grand daughter Millicent who was 14 years old and her place of birth was Derbyshire.  His occupation was Woodturner, as it had been all of his life!

 

*Thomas Brailsford married our Gt Grandmother Lucy Eyre at the parish church of Radford on 21st July 1883, both gave their address as Plimsoll Street.  Witnesses at the wedding were – John Frost and Lizzie Harvey.  Both fathers were still alive according to the marriage certificate.

Both Thomas and his father James gave their occupations as Brass Finishers.  Lucy’s fathers occupation was Watchmaker.
