Serves : makes 4 burgers Preparation

Ingredients :
- 500g lean beef mince
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tspn steak seasoning
- salt and pepper to taste
- 40g butter
- 2 large onions, extra, cut into rings
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 eggs, extra
- 4 rashers bacon, remove rind
- 4 large hamburger buns, halved
- shredded lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 4 large beetroot slices, drained
- 4 pineapple rings, drained
- tomato sauce, for serving
Preparation and Cooking Instructions
- Combine mince, chopped onion, egg, breadcrumbs, sauce, seasoning,
salt and pepper in bowl. Mix with hands to combine. Divide mixture into
4 and shape into 4 patties. Heat 30g butter in pan, add onion rings.
Cook over medium heat until browned. Keep warm.
- Heat a frying pan or grill plate, brush with oil. Cook patties 3-4
minutes each side or until cooked through. Place cheese slice on each
patty.
- While patties are cooking, heat remaining butter in a frying pan.
Fry eggs and bacon until eggs are cooked through and bacon is crisp.
- Toast buns and place bases on serving plates. On each base, place
lettuce, tomato, beetroot, pineapple, then a meat patty. Follow these
with onion, bacon, egg and finally a bun top.
