Hawaiian Venison ~ crockpot recipe

Ingredients :

  • 1lb boneless elk or venison round steak
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ¼ cup margarine or butter
  • ½ cup boiling water
  • 1 tspn salt
  • 2 or 3 green peppers
  • 1½ cups pineapple chunks
    for sauce
  • 2½ tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2½ tbsp soy sauce


Preparation and Cooking Instructions :

  1. Cut steak in 1" cubes and dredge with flour. Brown meat cubes on all sides in hot oil. Place in crock add water and salt. Place on high one hour, then turn down to low for approx. 6 hours. Add green peppers and pineapple chunks to meat. Cook one hour longer.
  2. On stove top prepare sauce: Combine all ingredients then cook until sauce is clear and thick. Pour over meat mixture and heat until ready to serve. Serve over Chinese noodles or cooked rice.
