The formal funeral death notice should be quite simple, stating who, what, when and where but we have a tendency to self expression in our own personal entries.

A sample formal funeral notice,

POWELL

Suddenly on 17th September at  St Josephs hospital Gwyneth Mary of Tinvillage dear wife of Fred and mother of Ian Rosalind and Tony. Funeral Thursday 25th September. Service at Rosewood.crematorium at 10.00am where friends may meet. Family flowers only please

More "personal" examples,

We often think of bygone days,
When we were all together,
The family chain is broken now,
But memories live forever.

In Heaven you rest,
No worry or pain,
God bless you mother,
'Till we meet again.

Never a nature more loving,
Never a heart so true,
We are proud you were our mother,
We thought the world of you.

As we loved him so we miss him,
In our thoughts he is ever near,
Loved, remembered, longed for always,
Bring many a silent tear.

Memories in our hearts today,
Mean more to us than we can say.

Beautiful memories treasured forever,
Of the happy years we spent tog
ether,
Life is eternal,
love will remain,
In God's own time we will meet again.

Those we love, don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
So sadly missed, so very dear.

This heartache has happened
To others I know,
But you were our own
And we love you so.

We miss you mum,
No words can tell,
Your voice, your smile,
Your love as well.

Father in heaven,
Hear our prayer,
Guard our little one
With tender care.
Be a good shepherd,
Don't leave her alone.
Love her dear Lord,
Like we did at home.

Wherever we go,
Whatever we do,
Our day begins
And ends with you.

Memories are treasures,
No one can steal,
Death leaves a heartache,
No one can heal.

God watched her as she suffered,
He knew she had her share,
He gently closed her eyelids,
And took her in his care.

God saw that you were tired,
He knew you needed rest,
His garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.

We miss you mum, we always will,
Your vacant place, no one can fill,
Hair of silver, heart of gold,
No finer mum this world could hold.

God saw the rugged pathway,
Was getting hard to climb,
So he closed those weary eyelids,
And whispered peace, be thine.

God he called you to his side,
Life begins once more,
I hope it's full of love and joy
As it was before.

I do believe that God above,
Created you for me to love.
He picked you out of all the rest
Because he knew
I loved you best.

Some may forget you,
Now that you are gone,
But I will remember,
No matter how long.

You are in our hearts forever
And that is where you'll stay.
Whatever we say or do,
Won't take the pain away.

If only I could speak to you
And hold your loving hand,
No matter what I've said or done,
I know you'd understand.

Like falling leaves,
Years go by,
But special memories of you
Will surely never die.

The shock was great, the blow severe,
To part with one
We love so dear.

"I'll lend you for a little time, A child of mine," He said, "For you to love the while she lives, and to mourn for when she's dead. It may be six or seven years or twenty two or three, but will you 'till I call her back, take care of her for me? She'll bring her charms to gladden you, and should her stay be brief, you'll have her lovely memories as a solace for your grief."
