Coat Length: Shorthair
Temperament: Active, friendly, responsive, affectionate, companionable, rarely stops purring
Coat: Dense black coat with short, fine, close-lying fur and a glossy sheen
Colours: Black - the fur should be jet black right down to the roots
Head: Large rounded head, short nose, dazzling round copper eyes, medium sized ears set well apart and rounded at the tips, well developed muzzle, visible nose break, black nose leather
Body: Well balanced, muscular, medium length body, medium length tail, medium length legs with small oval paws and black paw pads
Grooming: Regular combing to remove dead hair, wiping the coat with a silk cloth or damp chamois will make it shine
Common Faults: Curly or marked coat, abnormal tail, green eyes, nose that is not black
