Breed Profile

Coat Length: Shorthair

Temperament: Affectionate, amusing, intelligent, inquisitive, companionable, likes plenty of play and exercise, same affection for people as the Siamese but is much less vocal

Coat: Short satiny coat lies close to the body

Colours: Sable (Brown, Seal), Blue, Champagne (Chocolate), Platinum (Lilac), Red, Cream, Brown Tortie, Chocolate Tortie, Lilac Tortie, Blue Tortie

Head: Medium size wedge-shaped head with high cheekbones, short nose with distinct break, round eyes, medium ears rounded at the tips

Body: Medium length body, muscular build, long slim legs with forelimbs longer than hindlimbs, small round shaped paws in USA (oval shaped paws in Britain), medium length tail that tapers to a point

Grooming: Weekly combing, hand grooming to maintain a glossy coat, wiping the coat with a damp chamois will enhance its natural shine

Encephalocele [1,2]
- craniofacial and ophthalmic malformations
- autosomal dominant

Hypokalaemic (hypokalemic) episodic weakness [1,3,4]
- weakness due to low potassium concentration in the blood

Primary Endocardial Fibroelastosis [1,2,4]
