The Love Experts was Bob's first and only known attempt to combine the profitable game show genre with the now-popular talk show genre. Four celebrities would ask questions and give advice to three contestants that had love-related problems. The celebrities would vote on whose problem was most interesting or unique, and the winner won a prize (in the newly-found episodes, a trip).
Since half-an-hour is a large amount of time to fill, there was an audience Q&A session after the game was played, with the four panelists and emcee Bill Cullen giving advice.
The show is typical of BSP's transitional period of the late 70s, as being a simple, yet creative, show. And it had the unfortunate short run typical of this period.
