After an administrative error that on seemed to only affect the Shrimpers we were relegated before this season into Division Five. It all became a bit easy, lots of high scores and poor opponents severely overmatched. To read more about 2007 then click here

2000 The first tantalizing glimpse of Shrimper favourites. This season we became Mighty and were promoted back to Division Two as champions. A couple of games from this season were scored in the older book from 1997-98 and are recorded here. A famous Shrimper victory occurred on June 17 away at Tysoe. Gallah scored a ton but this was forgotten as the feared axis saved the day as Deej and SOB saw the Shrimpers home with a last wicket partnership.

1998 We still struggled to raise an XI but the weaker opposition meant we were good enough to hold our own. Cameron in particular made hay with the bat and ball! The first of three years in Division Three. All the stats can be found here

1997 This year saw us at last return to playing in Gayton at our new ground, soon to be nicknamed (fancy that!) The Poplars. After our eighth place finish in 1996 we hoped the return to the village would improve our fortunes. Unfortunately this was not the case, we still struggled to raise a side and consequently we finished bottom of Division Two and were relegated to Division Three.. See the stats here

1996 After our poor 1995 season and relegation we were back in Division Two. However we only saw Steve Ainsworth and Simon Hepher once each this season and not much of David Miles. Consequently our batting suffered and we endured another miserable season with more low scores. To find out how we got on the click here

1995 Gayton had reached the heights of Division One but years of mundane cricket had taken its toll. Old timers had retired, others had got bored, we relied on part-time players to make an XI, usually not even that. The result? Relegation at the end of the season.
