1896 Birth of George Albert Holt on the 28th January 1896 at 6 Trafalgar Place, Barking, Essex to David Holt and Annie Maria Holt nee Carr. Annie was aged 20 and her husband, David, was aged 24 and described as a labourer in a gas works. Mary Ann Carr (Annie's mother or sister?) registered the birth on 12th March 1896 by signing with an 'x' and stating that she was present at the birth and lived at 35 Orchard Avenue, Barking, Essex.

1916 Around this time, aged 20, joined the Merchant Navy.
1917 Said to have been taken prisoner of war, released and sailed to Cardiff.
1919 May Stephenson Warrender is married to George Albert Holt at St. Paul's Church, Grangetown, Cardiff, Wales on 26th January 1919. George Albert Holt is aged 24, is a bachelor and described as an Able Seaman. His address is 43 Somerset Street, Grangetown, Cardiff. He gives his father's name as George Albert Holt (believed incorrect) who he says is a Revolving Shutter Maker. May Stephenson Warrender is aged 23, is a spinster and has no occupation. She is living at 70 Darrel Street, Grangetown, Cardiff. She gives the name of her deceased father as George Warrender (incorrect, Charles her father died when May was 9) and says that he was a Coal Trimmer. The witnesses to the wedding are Ernest Alfred Hayball (husband of Jessie Madeleine Hayball nee Warrender) and Jane Ellen Williams (May's mother, Jane Ellen Warrender nee Bradburn, remarried to Thomas Williams)
1920 At their wedding date May was living at 70 Darrell Street and George was living at 43 Somerset Street, both in Grangetown. They now both move to 55 Dorset Street Grangetown where May had previously lived. The family remember that Jane Ellen Williams, formerly Warrender nee Bradburn was still there in the same house with her new husband Thomas Williams.

1923? Lilian Maud Holt born to May Stephenson Holt nee Warrender and George Albert Holt, at 55 Dorset Street, Grangetown, Cardiff.
1925? Kathleen May Holt born to May Stephenson Holt nee Warrender and George Albert Holt, at 55 Dorset Street, Grangetown, Cardiff.
