1853           Born between 6th February 1852 and 4th February 1854 to Walter Clark and Ann Clark nee ???  1881 census (transcribed) gave place of birth as Scotland and this was believed to be a transcription error for Salcombe where his father was from BUT in 1901 Census Thomas Clark aged 37, gives his place of birth as Scotland.

1867          Indentured to Thomas Searle, a carpenter so that Thomas can complete an apprentership.

1876          Possibly before the birth of their first child, Thomas Clark married Elizabeth A Jarman possibly in Bridgwater, Somerset, England.

1877          Between 28th October 1876 and 26th October 1878 the birth of daughter Emma J. Clark to Thomas Clark and Elizabeth A Jarman at Bridgwater, Somerset, England.

1879          Birth of son Francis W Clark at Bridgwater, Somerset, England.

1880          Birth of son Edwin Herbert Clark in July 1880 at Bridgwater, Somerset, England. (later known as Herbert Clark.)

1880          Family moved from Bridgwater, Somerset, England to Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales, to be with Elizabeth A Clark nee Jarman's parents Edwin Jarman and Elizabeth Jarman nee ??

1881          1881 census for 49 Woodville Terrace, Cardiff St. John, Glamorgan, Wales.

                      Elizabeth Jarman  , wife, married, aged 51, born Bristol, Somerset, England

                      Elizabeth A Clark , daughter, married, aged 27, born Bridgwater, Somerset, England.

                      Thomas Clark, son -in -law , a Carpenter, married, aged 27, born Scotland (poss error for Salcombe)

                      Frederick C. Jarman, son, an Architects Assistant, married, aged 21, born Bridgwater, Somerset, England.

                      Lucy F. Jarman, daughter in law, married, aged 20, born Cardif, Glamorgan, Wales.

                      Emma J. Clarke, grand daughter, aged 3, born Bridgwater, Somerset, England.

1882            Birth of son John Clark at Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales.

1882-3         Thomas Clark and wife and children move from 49 Woodville Terrace, Cathays, Cardiff to Irwin (Or Hirwain Street, 5 streets away see  Annie Elizabeth Clark ) where they are living at the birth of their next child.

1884  Their daughter Annie Elizabeth Clark born on July 28th 1884 at Irwin Street, St John, Cardiff to Thomas Clark and Elizabeth A Calrk nee Jarman Birth certificate gives Irwin Street which cannot be found on maps of the time or street registers for the time. A theory that a street in Cardiff was named after the valleys town of Hirwaun, this has been corrupted to Hirwain Street which existed in Cathays Cardiff. It should be noted that non Welsh speaking Cardiff folk pronounce Hirwain as Irwin.  Annie Elizabeth's birth certificate

1894          Birth of son Reginald Clark at Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales.

1909         Thomas was present and a witness at the wedding of his daughter  Annie Elizabeth Clark when she married on January 31st 1909 to Bernard Thompson  at St Andrews Church, Central Cardiff. Bernard is described as 28, a bachelor and a Labourer living at 168 Cathays Terrace, Cathays, Cardiff, Wales. His father, Charles Thompson is described as a Carpenter. Annie Elizabeth Clark is described as 24, a spinster, also of 168 Cathays Terrace, Cathays, Cardiff, Wales. Annie's father Thomas Clark is described as a Machinist. The witnesses were Thomas Clark and John Clark (poss her older brother).

1916          Son Reginald Clark killed in action during the 1st World War at Kut near Baghdad aged 23.

1926          Thomas is living with his daughter Annie Elizabeth Clark at 68 Wyeverne Road, Cathays, Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales.
